art across asia tour at the freer gallery

still catching up:

a friend i with whom i used go to high school
who is also homeschooling her children
invited me to meet up with a group of homeschoolers from her area last March
to take a free tour of the Freer Gallery of Art
about Art Across Asia where we investigated “diverse art objects from across Asia,
exploring aesthetic and cultural commonalities and differences,
including objects from the Islamic World, the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and/or East Asia.”

i was reminded of what a gem of a resource the Smithsonian is,
and to remember to search the Smithsonian web site
for all the relevant and amazing artifacts they have available
as we work through A Story of the World
(to be used with extreme caution, common sense and other less-biased books).
